AI Anywhere Extension

The "AI anywhere" idea is simple: bring model-backed help into every context you work in—browser, IDE, email, docs—without switching tabs or apps. In 2025–2026 that’s delivered by extensions, sidebar tools, and system-level assistants.

• Browser extensions (e.g. ChatGPT sidebar, Perplexity, or niche summarizers) let you highlight, ask, and get answers or drafts without leaving the page. The best ones respect context: the URL, selected text, or the structure of the page.

• IDE and editor integrations (Cursor, Windsurf, Copilot, Codeium) put completion, chat, and refactors where you code. "AI anywhere" in dev means the model sees your file, your errors, and your repo when you ask.

• OS-level and cross-app tools (Raycast AI, Spotlight-style prompts, or future agent OS layers) aim to make "ask from anywhere" a system default. One query, any app—still early but directionally where things are going.

The design challenge is context and consent: what gets sent to the model, from where, and with what permissions. Good "AI anywhere" feels invisible when you need it and stays out of the way when you don’t. Research and product work in 2025 is as much about boundaries and UX as it is about model quality.
